Every year, the Christmas market’s 150 festively decorated stands enthral more than four million visitors from Germany and abroad. The market’s trademarks include the star-shaped arrangement of the stands, the tent of starry lights stretched out above them and a Christmas tree around 25 metres tall. This Christmas market is also referred to as the “market of hearts,” due to its social concerns and free stage and children’s programme.
